Jack Johnson Headlines Two-Night Coast Film & Music Benefit Concert

The Coast Film & Music Festival has opened single-day ticket sales for its upcoming festival, taking place November 1–9 at multiple venues throughout Laguna Beach. The seventh annual event launches November 1 at the Rivian South Coast Theater with a screening of The Eyes of Ghana.

The festival will conclude with two feature films: Love + War by Academy Award winners Chai Vasarhelyi and Jimmy Chin, and musician Jack Johnson’s The September Sessions.

Before becoming a multi-platinum recording artist, Johnson was a prominent surf filmmaker known for Thicker Than Water and The September Sessions. His cinematic style and acoustic soundtrack helped define modern surf culture and introduced his music to a global audience. Johnson will headline a two-night concert celebration at the historic Irvine Bowl. Proceeds benefit ocean conservation through his ‘Ohana Foundation and the Coast Film Foundation.

Single-day tickets start under $20 for film screenings at the Laguna Beach Cultural Arts Center and go up to $125 for premium experiences, including Coast Summit and select seating. Tickets are available now at coastfilmfestival.com.

The full film slate features 16 features and 73 shorts screening at the Laguna Beach Cultural Arts Center, Festival of Arts, Rivian South Coast Theater, The Promenade on Forest, and Hobie Surf Shop.

Opening night film The Eyes of Ghana is directed by two-time Academy Award winner Ben Proudfoot and executive produced by Barack and Michelle Obama. The documentary follows 93-year-old cinematographer Chris Hesse on a race to preserve more than 1,000 historic films documenting the birth of African independence.

Closing night film Love + War follows Pulitzer Prize–winning conflict photographer Lynsey Addario as she navigates the demands of frontline journalism and motherhood. The September Sessions follows American surfers, including Kelly Slater and Rob Machado, on a transformational trip to Sumatra, filmed on 16mm.

Passes and single-day tickets are available now at coastfilmfestival.com.
